Flowers stay fresher, longer, for birthdays, anniversaries,new beginnings, or just because.The project is divided into two parts: the customer facing e-commerce, and an internal logistics platform (enterprise planning).

Challenges to get hands-on: Solve scalability issues; upgrading order management system; complex customer CRM; very high number of orders, requiring adjustment for low latency; complex global logistics - U.S., Europe, Africa, South America; farms; operations; brick-and-mortar stores; FedEx air and last-mile delivery; distribution center - capacity planning; complex optimization and scheduling business rules; Forecasting and machine learning.

Your daily task!
  • Design, develop and modify the customer facing e-commerce using Ruby

  • Contribute to planning and review throughout the software lifecycle as required.

  • Partner with business stakeholders to architect, design, and develop new features for our logistics back-end and reporting engines.

  • Work with technology and business teams to ensure rich capabilities are delivered iteratively.

  • Conduct peer review of code and technical designs.

  • Correct program errors, prepare operating instructions, compile documentation of program development, and analyze system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.

  • Execute platform performance reviews and optimization on all layers as needed.

  • Use your entrepreneurial spirit and passion to do things differently and drive innovation on behalf of our customers.

You’ll be a perfect match if:
  • +3 years of Ruby experience

  • Experience in developing e-commerce

  • Knowledge in React, Kafka, Lambda, SQS

  • AWS dev ops experience is appreciated

  • Ideal candidate has both recent Ruby and Java experience

  • + B2 English

  • Contractor - Long Term
